First devlog
Hey, hello, hi,
So I always wanted to learn Unreal Engine C++, since I felt like I was kind of lacking in that aspect.
I have some experience in Unity, but due to me being a game dev student it felt only right to become more adept in UE as well.
The reason I'm making an anime arena fighting game is due to my love for anime, fighting games and the (in my opinion) lack of interesting 3D arena fighting games. I want the game to be played like a fast-paced FPS game: multiple players and relatively fast deaths. I'd also like to have each character feel totally different, instead of them typically being the same character but with just different abilities.
I might talk about some specific features I want to implement later down the line, but for now I'll keep it quite basic.
Each character uses a combo-system similar to the one from Bayonetta or Mortal Kombat. You have 2 attack-buttons which, if pressed in right succession, start a specific attack.
Characters will also have abilities. They would behave like you think an ability would, but the twist is that other players can benefit from the ability as well. Players can basically either help empower a player's ability, or make use of it's advantages.
Think of players teleporting with Goku whenever they hang onto him if he's using Instant Transmission.
Then the last words.
This project is meant as more of a passion project, so I'll work on it whenever I have time to.
Also, nothing in the game is finished. I plan to revisit/rework game features every now and then.
Also also, feel free to suggest any features you think would be cool for the game, I'll probably read every comment there will be (if any at all).
So that will be it for now, stay tuned for more updates.
